All-new BMW X2 crossover offers a fair price for M Sport fun
BMW announced its all-new compact X2 crossover at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Powered by a 2.0-liter turbo i4, putting out 228 horsepower and 258 lb-ft torque. An eight-speed automatic is the only transmission option and all-wheel drive is standard. The smallest BMW SUV starts at a reasonable $38,400 for the xDrive28i base model. Add in the nearly necessary $300 for Apple CarPlay and you still have yourself a sporty, fun car for under $40K.
Two other packages are available, Convenience and Premium, that add a ton of niceties. The most fun trim will be the M Sport X Premium package, adding a sport tuned transmission setting, paddle shifters, larger wheels and tires, with the addition of all the features of the normal Premium package. That will set you back $45,650 plus taxes and fees.
